Is there any non-cream medication that can prevent/reduce skin irritation?

I have a dog whose hair makes my arm turn red and itchy almost immediately after contact. This lasts for about an hour or so. There aren%26#039;t any other typical allergy side effects like sneezing and such, just itchy red skin. The only pill I%26#039;ve found that can reduce this is Benadryl, which has the side effect of making me sleepy. Is there any other antihistamine allergy pill that can help with skin irritation?|||They do sell NON-drowsy Benadryl ya know.
